Mabel B Our Latinx groups are getting stronger and stronger.
I’m still very hopeful that something good will come out of this.
A better future is coming.
Despite all the sadness and the things we have seen and experienced, I’m still very hopeful that something good will come out of this. Right now, at least locally, I’m feeling that way. Small things that make me feel that a better future is coming, at least in our community.
For example, thinking about the distribution of the vaccines, I start to push for health equity for months before the vaccine was available, and we’re really pushing into our leadership. And suddenly now we have our Confluence Health Foundation supporting with money the efforts that these promotora, these community members are doing. So we have now a great partnership and it’s just amazing how much we are achieving.
I believe our Latinx groups are getting stronger and stronger.
I am happy with the little things that I’m seeing.
Again, for example, they bring some of the homeless people. They go, they pick them up, they drive them to the hospital to get the vaccine. They go door-by-door to talk to the community. These connections have been just truly amazing. So we have a huge network. Our Latinx groups over here locally, I believe they are getting stronger and stronger.
I’m pretty happy with all these little things that I’m seeing that something good is going to come
from all this.
